Thanks to social media ‘dumb’ trends and challenges spread quickly.

There’s nothing wrong with innocent dabbing or planking, but the latest trend is actually an old one making a comeback, and it’s dangerous.

Kids of the 90’s probably remember the ‘salt & ice’ challenge, where the whole goal of the challenge is to hold ice to salt against your skin for as long as you can.

Yeah…(smh)

And of course the tweens of 2017 have resurrected the game, and are coming home to their parents with chemical burns.

Brun

The burns are caused due to the salt lowering the ice temperature and pretty much giving the skin a frostbite burn.

As part of the trend, kids who can complete the challenge post a photo of their burn online.

So parents, our intent is not to scare you, but just make sure you’re aware that your kids could be exposed to the challenge. And to make sure they understand that the consequences could be as bad as a second degree burn! Ouch.
