There’s a hidden gem in Edmonton called The End Of The World. It’s a side walk held up by a 20 year old retaining wall by the river valley that suddenly drops off and ends.

For this reason it’s been dubbed unsafe, and back in 2015 the city council starting making an effort to stop people from trespassing.

But it’s hard to keep people out! The unique landmark still attracts many Edmontonians of all ages.

Because of continued trespassers, the city may be taking the “No Trespassing” sign away…

But, Edmonton city council’s executive committee are then proposing an “off-limits concrete ledge for the End of the World. With a public viewing area, a wooden deck with railings and lighting, a wooden staircase and an asphalt trail.” The design phase is expected to cost $440,000.

So the site may loose some nostalgia, but it will be much safer and keep the beautiful view!
