UK singer Rita Ora is back with a brand new single called, Your Song that will serve as the first single from her forthcoming album that will be released later this year.

Your Song was co-written by Ed Sheeran and Steve Mac whom Rita is a big fan of.

She told Niko of 92.3 AMP RADIO , “I loved working with Ed and Steve; it was incredible to really bring this idea to life with some of the most talented songwriters of our time. Ed and I have been friends since our teens. It’s brilliant to have the opportunity to collaborate with him for my first single – we definitely click creatively…

It is that friendship that made working with Ed that much more enjoyable for Rita, “He [Sheeran] sent me this record on an email and was like, ‘I think you could kill this…It’s an important song for me because I did it with a dear friend of mine, which makes everything more special when you do it with people you actually like and love.”

With Your Song, Rita set out to show people just how much she has developed as a singer (and grown as a person) and when you listen to the track, her growth is undeniable, “I wanted people to really hear my voice…So much has changed for me personally and professionally which has allowed me to develop as an artist.”

One of the real beauties of this record is that it is meant to give the listener hope and make them feel free and positive about life, Your Song has everything I wanted to express: it’s a song that’s full of positivity.”

You can check out the lyric video for Your Song above, and below you can check out the official music video which was filmed in Vancouver and directed by Michael Haussman, who has worked with the likes of Kanye West, Justin Timberlake and Madonna.

Rita would have liked to film the video in London but her schedule wouldn’t allow her to do so, so she chose Vancouver instead, not only because she loved the city, but because of its ambiguous look, “The video, unfortunately, wasn’t filmed in London because I didn’t have time to fly there. I wish it could have been. But it was filmed in Vancouver, so it could be a city of your choice because you know how Vancouver looks like so many different places.”

Your Song is beautiful and makes me excited for what’s in store for Rita later this year!
