Gossip Girl here, your one and only source into the scandalous lives of Manhattan’s (and Hollywood’s) elite. Guess which Upper East Side business magnate has been spotted rocking nothing but a gold chain and tiny red briefs inc the first few seconds of a new Netflix show? Why that’s none other than Ed Westwick, the actor formerly known as Chuck Bass.

If you’ve been longing for a dose of Chuck Bass since Gossip Girl wrapped in 2012 like me, dry your tears, friends, because a nouveau-Chuck is waiting for you in the new BBC Two comedy, White Gold, that just landed on Netflix and lord, did we miss his smarmy charm.

Westwick stars in White Gold as a window salesman named Vincent Swan in Essex, England circa 1983—cheesy suits, gold chains and iconic ’80s tunes and all. Sounds like a far cry from the early aughts Manhattan suaveness of uber-privileged brat Bass, but trust: Westwick’s Bassian smoothness transcends both time and borders. Oh, and in case you didn’t know: Westwick, 30, is actually from London, so please enjoy his English accent on the show.

James Buckley and Joe Thomas from the British comedy The Inbetweeners—a fave of teenage boys everywhere and, ahem, this writer—round out Westwick’s crew of sleazy window salesmen and the result is comedic gold. All six episodes of the dark comedy’s first season are streaming on Netflix now. Thank us later.
