NAIT Pride Week – March 2-6

Introducing, for the first time ever, NAIT’s Pride Week! Pride Week is an opportunity for us to honour our promise to students and staff by supporting and celebrating our diverse NAIT community.

Together with the NAIT Gay-Straight Alliance (GSA) student club and partners across NAIT, Safe Spaces and will be hosting a number of events throughout the week including the inaugural NAIT Pride Walk lead by NAIT President Dr. Feltham on March 5th, and an evening with Michael Phair, former City Councillor and progressive community activist, on March 6th.

Artist Emerge – March 5-7

A Spotlight on Canada’s Hip-Hop Culture

Artists Emerge is a street dance competition on March 5 – 7 with the purpose of supporting and revealing Canada’s top talent emerging from the Hip Hop Culture. The competition has two major categories: DANCE STUDIOS and PROFESSIONAL CREW BATTLES.

Dancers hit the stage and compete for 2 days with the 3-hour Final Showdown on Day 3, showcasing the best of the best fighting for thousands of dollars in cash and prizes.

The element of celebrity judges from popular TV shows — such as So You Think You Can DanceABDC and Hip Hop Pioneers — make for a must-see show. Do not miss the biggest battle of the year, where ICONS are born and Artists Emerge. Be there!

Mom, Pop & Tots Fair – March 6-7

Head to the Mom, Pop and Tots Fair and join in on the excitement! With hundreds of vendors and participants, there is a lot to explore. Learn about parenting tools, find out what’s happening in your community, or just come and see all the toys!

From exhibitor booths and stage shows, to family fun and games, this show promises to be two days full of entertainment for the whole family. This year’s guest entertainers are TOOPY & BINOO, brought to you by Edmonton Catholic Schools Early Learning.

Bliss Bridal Show – March 8

Bliss is an exciting and new spin on the average Wedding Trade Fair.  We will be showcasing Alberta’s hottest hidden talents and bringing a fresh and modern twist to the table.

Everyone and their mother knows that a bunch of dudes on hockey skates are about to plunge down a track built in the River Valley and you know you want to see it!

Winter Warrior Challenge – March 14

Anyone can play in the mud, but only Canada’s toughest warriors can battle through below-freezing temperatures to conquer the course and the elements. Be a part of a uniquely Canadian obstacle course challenge. Located at The Ranch Golf and Country Club, just 5 minutes west of Edmonton! Crawl, climb, and scramble your way through snow and ice and help raise funds for The Rainbow Society of Alberta. Starts at 10 a.m

2015 Edmonton Flatstick Hockey Tournament -March 13-14

Get up close and personal with Alberta’s hockey history!

March 13-14 at Sir Winston Churchill Square, Flatstick is a 4 on 4 tournament for teams of 7 or more, played with “Flatsticks” (no curve) in beautiful downtown Edmonton. Just plenty of old-school hockey (really old school – moustaches, sweaters, saying things like “old sport”).

Come visit The Bounce and the Bounce Nation Street Team all weekend long for games, prizes, and good old-time hockey.
