Next Month, the liberal government will be announcing their plan to legalize marijuana by Canada Day 2018.

CBC’s The National was the first to report on the announcement, they said the government plans to introduce the legislation the week of April 10.

However, other reports have claimed the bill will be introduced on April 20. (4/20)

Based on early reports, with the legalization Ottawa would secure Canada’s marijuana supply and licensed producers, the national age limit to legally purchase the drug would be 18, and Canadians wishing to grow their own plants would be limited to 4 plants per household.

Provinces will also have control over price, and how marijuana is bought and sold, and have the ability to make the legal age higher than 18.
