Hold onto your hearts Cole Sprouse lovers—our fave Riverdale boy is heading to the BIG SCREEN!

It was just revealed that 25-year-old Sprouse will be starring in a new movie called Five Feet Apart. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Jughead Jones  Sprouse is playing a young man who is dealing with a life-threatening illness when he falls in love with someone who is also in a similar health situation. Anyone else getting some The Fault in Our Stars vibes?

While the details so far are hush-hush, we do know a few things about the flick (and have a few of our own hopes, too). Here’s what we know about Five Feet Apart so far.

The film is a romantic drama

According to the Hollywood Reporter, Five Feet Apart is a story about two young people who “meet and fall in love while being treated for their illnesses, knowing that they are both living on borrowed time.” If that isn’t enough to make your eyes water, the outlet also says that the script is “uplifting” and tells the tale of people who “help make every moment count.” Sprouse will be playing one half of the couple, while his co-star has yet to be revealed. Juicy.

A Jane the Virgin star is involved in production

Justin Baldoni, who plays Rafael Solano on Jane the Virgin, is making his feature film directorial debut with the movie—which is set to start filming in the spring—so you know it will be good. While we don’t know much about other involved A-listers, we’re hoping that Baldoni brings a comedic element to the emotional story (and maybe Gina Rodriguez, too).

The film is Sprouse’s first movie role as an adult

You may recall that Sprouse and twin bro Dylan got their start starring as the same kid in 90s classic comedy Big Daddy with Adam Sandler. While Sprouse has continued acting on TV (Riverdale and Suite Life of Zack and Cody, duh), Five Feet Apart will be his first movie role as an adult actor. He’s grown up so fast! *tear*

And here’s what we want to see in Five Feet Apart…

Sprouse showing emotion—in a believable way

Since the upcoming feature sounds hella emotional (remember: love, illness, youth), we’re hoping that Sprouse taps into his #feelings and makes us all weep—and not in a cringeworthy way. Read: we do NOT want to see any more “How. Many. Damn. Years?” lameo lines à la Riverdale.

A relatable love interest

While there’s a time and a place for binge-watching Nicholas Sparks flicks, we do not want to be fed another far-fetched storyline about gorgeous and perfect hotties. We would LOVE it if Sprouse’s love interest was a relatable (and flawed) character played by a badass like Saoirse Ronan or Yara Shahidi. Those are couples we would ship.
