3 years ago today @badgalriri released her 8th studio album ANTI ???????? arguably her best work. ANTI takes a departure from Rihanna’s dance club orientated hits in favor of a darker sound, blending elements of Rock, Hip-Hop, R&B, Soul and Dancehall Reggae. Her cover of “New Person, Same Old Mistakes” by @tame__impala (renamed Same Ol’ Mistakes) is a standout moment on the album. ANTI lived up to its name, going against everything that made Rihanna an icon. The results were not only refreshing but a true testament to her artistry. . . . . . #fenty #fentybeauty #makeup #rihanna #mua #riri #love #beauty #badgalriri #makeupartist #navy #rihannanavy #like #follow #fashion #hudabeauty #queen #badgirl #instamusic #savagexfenty #mac #music #art #sephora #instagood #beautiful #robyn #rihannaanti #badgirlriri

Anti was released back in 2016, was Rihanna’s eighth studio album and it gave fans some of Rihanna’s biggest tracks like ‘Work’ with Drake, ‘Needed Me’ and ‘Love on the Brain.’  In recent tweets, Rihanna thanked her fans for their continuous support, “3 years old….and this baby is still on the #Billboard200 album chart!  Thank you for your continued support and enthusiasm. Music was my gateway drug to every other wonderful aspect of creative opportunity that I’ve explored. And I’m grateful for that. #ANTI #ANTIversary.”

In a separate tweet, Rihanna writes, “But music is, and always will be, my first love and direct connection to your spirit. I’m blessed to have y’all! One Love always. #ANTI #ANTIversary.”

According to Billboard, “Not only did the album go triple-platinum, but it has also spent 156 weeks on the Billboard 200.  The album spawned a bevy of hits including her Drake-assisted smash “Work.” The dancehall-tinged single rocketed to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, while “Needed Me” also resided in the top 10, peaking at No. 7.”

So what about Rihanna’s new album we’ve been waiting forever for? According to mega-hit producer The-Dream, he told Ebro Darden from Hot 97 that the album is ‘nearly finished,’ “She’s cooking, she’s about done. She’s about done. Super close.”  Watch The-Dream’s interview below.

Until we get something new from RiRi, let’s jam out to some Anti’s classics!
