It’s the 2nd most spoken language in the world, with nearly a billion people speaking English worldwide, but it is also the oddest language out there.

First of all, there are words that sound exactly alike but are spelled differently and have their own meanings. For example — their, there, they’re. Or to, too, two. These are called Homonyms and there is NO REASON FOR THEM!

Then there’s this absolute nightmare…

And can some scholar please explain to all of us why COUGH, ROUGH, THOUGH, AND THROUGH don’t rhyme yet BOLOGNA and PONY do?!

Oh yeah, and then there’s that whole “i before e” thing…

How did any of us ever figure this stupid language out?!
