Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande have officially taken over the 2020 MTV VMAs nominations!

Their collaboration, ‘Rain On Me’, is nominated for seven awards, which include Video and Song of the Year.

Lady Gaga might have seven nominations for ‘Rain On Me’, but altogether, Gaga has nine nominations.

In a new Instagram post, Lady Gaga writes, “I am so grateful and so blessed to have 9 VMAs nominations this year for my album Chromatica, for Rain On Me, and other performances I’ve given.  This is such a difficult time for people all over the world, I really honour how lucky I am to have a day like today.  I hope you all will celebrate yourselves in this moment, everyone should be nominated for an award right now.  For bravery, for courage, for the strong human spirit.”  Following behind with six nominations, Billie Eilish and The Weeknd, and Taylor Swift has earned herself five nominations.

The 2020 VMAs will go live on August 30 inside New York’s Barclays Center.  The 2020 VMAs will be the first live award show following the worldwide pandemic and according to Entertainment Weekly, “The show will feature a line-up that will span across all five boroughs, with performances from various iconic locations and various health and safety measures in place.”
