Ariana Grande and fiancé Dalton Gomez were busy spreading love and cheer this holiday season.  Ariana and Dalton sent patients at UCLA Mattel Children’s Hospital (both campuses in Westwood and Santa Monica) holiday gifts off their wishlist.  According to the UCLA Instagram page, “Their generosity saw to it that our kid’s holiday wish lists were granted and that the delivery came with surprise pizza and meal deliveries.”

Kelli Carroll, director of the Chase Child Life program at the UCLA Mattel Children’s hospital said in a statement, “We are thankful for all our wonderful partners who have donated in the past couple of weeks, including Ariana Grande, and for serving the needs of our hospitalized children. This pandemic may have changed how we do things, but we look for the same result – to alleviate the stresses of hospitalization and bring joy to our kids.”

Ariana and Dalton then sent Secret Santa gifts and Amazon vouchers to Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital and Manchester Royal Infirmary, and patients weren’t the only ones who received gifts, so did the moms and dads!  Parents were gifted face creams, lotions, blankets and more.

A father of one of the Manchester patients explains, “As I understand it she’s given every child in the hospital a voucher. I went to pick her up and she was so excited.  She said ‘look dad, I’ve got a £100 voucher from Ariana Grande.’ It was in a little personalized box with no message on it and no note to say who it’s from. It’s such a lovely gesture and there’s no publicity around it so you know it’s genuine.  It’s brought a lot of joy after everything that’s gone in with the pandemic this year. It’s been a tough year with my daughter being in hospital. The staff there are great and so hard working.”

Manchester holds a special place in Ariana’s heart –  during the European leg of her Dangerous Woman tour, a suicide bomb attack by Salman Abedi (22) happened inside Manchester Arena on May 22, 2017, injuring over 500 people and causing 22 deaths.  In a 2018 interview, Ariana shared, “It’s hard to talk about because so many people have suffered such severe, tremendous loss. But, yeah, it’s a real thing.  I know those families and my fans, and everyone there experienced a tremendous amount of it as well. Time is the biggest thing.  I feel like I shouldn’t even be talking about my own experience – like I shouldn’t even say anything. I don’t think I’ll ever know how to talk about it and not cry.”
