Fans have not been easy on Adele.  During a recent interview with ‘Desert Island Discs’ on BBC Radio 4, Adele opens up about postponing her Las Vegas residency, “I definitely felt everyone’s disappointment and I was devastated and I was frightened about letting them down, and I thought I could pull it together and make it work and I couldn’t, and I stand by that decision.”

Adele then admitted she “was a shell of a person for a couple of months” and “just had to wait it out and just grieve it, I guess, just grieve the shows and get over the guilt, but it was brutal.”  It was back in January, a day before the start of her residency when Adele made the cancellation announcement, “I don’t think any other artist would have done what I did and I think that’s why it was such a massive, massive story.”

Despite her last minute decision, Adele says she has no regrets, “You can’t buy me.  I’m not just going to do a show because I have to or because people will be let down or because we’re going to lose loads of money. The show’s not good enough.  Of course I’m working on it! I’m not going to update you if I ain’t got nothing to update you with, because that just leads to more disappointment. Maybe my silence has been deadly.  The reaction was brutal.”
And just last weekend, Adele returned to the big stage where she headlined the BST Hyde Park festival in London.  “My heart is absolutely full!! I’ll never forget these shows with you, slap bang in the middle of London, outdoors, during Pride weekend! You brought everything and more! Thank you so so much for having me. Thank you to the entire line up, you were all incredible. Thank you to my band and my crew for two seamless shows. And a huge thank you to everyone from BST, an absolutely impeccably run event, you looked after the crowds so well and I’m so honored to have been asked to perform this year so thank you! See you really soon,” she wrote on Instagram.
