Taylor Swift has made her debut on Forbes’ prestigious billionaires list, marking a significant milestone in her career.

For the first time ever, the renowned musician’s name has been included in Forbes’ annual billionaires’ roundup. What’s particularly remarkable is that Swift’s entry into this elite club is solely attributed to her music and live performances.

Joining Swift on this inaugural billionaires list are notable figures such as NBA icon Earvin “Magic” Johnson, fashion designer Christian Louboutin, and over 260 others.

Last October, Bloomberg initially reported Swift’s ascent to billionaire status, citing her recent albums, groundbreaking ‘Eras’ tour—which raked in an unprecedented $1 billion (£795 million)—and record-smashing concert film as key contributors to her financial success.

Forbes’ analysis of Swift’s wealth reveals staggering figures: $500 million (£398 million) from royalties and touring, and another $500 million from her music catalogue. A significant portion of her earnings stems from her strategic re-recordings of previous albums, aimed at reclaiming control over her master recordings. Notably, the re-release of her 2014 album ‘1989’ surpassed its original sales figures.

Additionally, Forbes reports that Swift has amassed $125 million in real estate holdings.

Swift’s financial triumph extends to streaming platforms as well. She reportedly earned $100 million (£79.6 million) solely from Spotify royalties in the past year, driven by the popularity of her albums ‘Midnights’ (2022) and ‘1989 (Taylor’s Version)’ (2023).

Further solidifying her status as a powerhouse in the music industry, Swift announced her forthcoming 11th album, ‘The Tortured Poets Department,’ during the 2024 Grammys ceremony, where she clinched Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album awards for ‘Midnights.’

The songstress has already unveiled the album’s tracklist, teasing collaborations with Post Malone and Florence + The Machine.

In unrelated news, acclaimed actress Laura Dern commended Swift’s filmmaking prowess, affirming her status as a multi-talented artist.
